From fall crafts, to Halloween movies, pumpkin carving, and everything in between, we hope the following fall activities for families in Columbus, Clintonville, Worthington and surrounding areas will inspire you to start filling up your calendar accordingly.

Ninth Annual Pumpkinpalooza

Presented by TWIG of Nationwide Children’s Hospital

When: Saturday, September 30, 10am – 4pm

Where: Emswiler Farms – 13329 Morse Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062

Enjoy a day-long family festival at Emswiler Farms featuring hayrides, live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artists, crafts, games, food concessions, and of course, PUMPKINS! Proceeds benefit the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Nationwide Children’s.

Harvest Fair at the Columbus Commons

Celebrate the very best of fall with the Columbus Commons. For one big day, your family can gather with other families in downtown Columbus to take in Pedicab “hay rides,” games, entertainment, a pumpkin patch, and seasonal craft creations. Many activities are free, but you can also buy a $5 wristband for unlimited fall fun!

Floating Pumpkin Patch at Worthington Pools

When: Saturday, September 30 from 1 – 2:30pm

Where: Worthington Pools – 400 W Dublin Granville Rd., Worthington, OH 43085

Want a unique pumpkin picking experience? Head to Worthington Pools to swim around in the indoor pool and find your perfect fall pumpkin! You can even decorate your pumpkin on-site. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the pool. Lifejackets are available for use.

Kids Dream Not So Scary Halloween Series at Marcus Theatres

When: At 10am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October

Columbus Italian Festival

When: Friday, October 6 from 5 – 11pm, Saturday, October 7 from noon – 11pm, & Sunday, October 8 from 12 – 7pm.

Head to any Columbus area Oakland Nursery for the 37th Annual Fall Festival where artists, concessions, family games, live music, sales, door prizes, and all-you-can-carry pumpkins await the entire family!

Upper Arlington Fall Fest

When: Sunday, October 8 from 1 – 5pm

Where: Fancyburg Park – 3375 Kioka Ave., Upper Arlington, OH 43221

Head to Upper Arlington for family-friendly fall activities that include pumpkin carving, inflatables, face painting, apple cider pressing, caramel apple dipping, the Huffman’s Market Chili Cook-off, plus live music and entertainment. Don’t forget to bring an old shirt, pants, and hat to make your very own scarecrow.

Pumpkin Carving Competition at Worthington Community Center

When: Thursday, October 12 from 5-9pm or Friday, October 13 from 9am to noon

Where: Worthington Community Center – 345 E Wilson Bridge Rd., Worthington, OH 43085

Prove you’re the best pumpkin artist in Columbus by taking part in the Worthington Community Center’s first ever Pumpkin Carve Off! Bring your carved pumpkin to the Community Center on Thursday October 12 or Friday October 13. LED candles will be provided to participants. Your carved creation will be on display during the Community Center’s Barnyard Bash Halloween Party on October 13 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm where you and the public can cast votes while enjoying a petting zoo, hayrides, games, and more! Winners will receive a 4 foot tall “Great Pumpkin” inflatable to proudly display in their yards!

All Hallows’ Eve at Ohio Village

When: Saturday, October 14 from 5:30 to 9:30pm & Saturday, October 21 from 5:30–9:30 p.m.

Where: Ohio Village – I-71 & 17th Ave. (Exit 111), Columbus, OH

Enjoy an evening of 1890s-style family fun at All Hallows’ Eve! A retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will happen by the bonfire, along with pumpkin carving activities and strange characters roaming the Ohio Village. Revel in old-fashioned entertainment including fortune telling, crafts, games and much more!

Howl-O-Ween at the Ohio Wildlife Center

This family-friendly Halloween event is filled with spooky fun! Enjoy a fall walk through the White Tail Trail, and visits from “spooky” animal ambassadors — including owls Bella, Alex and Woodsy, snakes Checkers, bats Echo, and American Crows, Percy and Lenore.

Halloween Pet Parade and Fall Festival at Easton

Where: Fenlon Square at Easton Town Center

What’s more fun than seeing our pets dressed up for Halloween? Showing them off for all to see, of course! Stop by Fenlon Square to see ghouls, goblins, ghosts and more at the Halloween Pet Parade. Awards given include Best Group, Scariest, and Funniest Costumes. Don’t miss activities for the kids too!

The City of Bexley Harvest Festival
