Clintonville Local Business Spotlight: Yoga Happiness Studio

This month, we are excited to feature Yoga Happiness Studio in our Clintonville Local Business Spotlight.

Yoga Happiness Studio opened its first location on Arcadia in 2014 and in October of 2018 moved to its current High Street location. The studio offers non-dogmatic hatha yoga for all levels in small, intimate classes for a more personalized and comfortable setting.

We reached out to Burgundie Miceli, Owner of Yoga Happiness Studio, to learn more about the studio and why they love working (and living) in Clintonville.

Just about 5 years. I had a studio on Arcadia for 3 years and have been at my current location on High Street for 8 months. Prior to having the studio, I was a traveling yoga teacher, like most are, and focused on doing in-home private lessons. That didn’t turn out to be what I had hoped it would be.

What made you choose your location? Why Clintonville?

I was born in Clintonville and have lived here for my entire 43 years of life! I love it and wouldn’t think of having my business anywhere else, to be honest. Clintonville is my people.

What makes your business unique?

We’re small and cater to beginners and people who prefer personalized attention. A big class is 8 people. Most classes will be around 3-5, though. We’re on the top floor of a typical Clintonville home that was turned into a business. It’s comfy and we get to open the windows during nice weather!

The people. I mean, it’s nice that Clintonville is walkable and all that, but truly, Clintonville is awesome because of the people that live here.

What is the best piece of advice you would give to an aspiring local, small business owner?

Be your authentic self. There are businesses out there that have the money for fancy marketing and can get their brand in front of peoples’ faces. But, what we lack in our society is the human connection. Be yourself. That’s what keeps people coming back.

What are some of your favorite places to go in Clintonville? Local business or other.

Cup O’ Joe and Global Gallery for coffee and atmosphere
Harvest for pizza and yummy appetizers
Lucky Dragon for the best Crab Rangoon
Bartlett Medical Clinic and Wellness Center – She’s my doctor, and I like her so much I moved into the building with her!

Yoga Happiness Studio is located at 3630 N. High Street in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio.
